Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Legal Firm for Legal and Regulatory (Advisory) Services Ministry of Natural Resources of Suriname now invites eligible Legal firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing consulting services for the Energy Authority of Suriname (EAS). Assessment and review of the existing legal and regulatory energy sector framework. 1. Reviewing the current legal & regulatory framework of the energy sector of Suriname, specifically the existing electricity/energy laws, other relevant legislation and sector regulations. 2. Identifying and determining the gaps regarding the legal & regulatory framework, based on the energy policy set forward by the government (Energy Sector Plan) and to ensure that the EAS is not constrained in the execution of its mandated functions. 3. Making recommendations for the strengthening and revision of the energy sector-s legal & regulatory framework, in order for the EAS to support sector reform measures, transition the sector towards sustainable development, and to remove potential barriers to the development of the EAS- institutional capacity and overall execution of its functions
